Trump remains optimistic, believing that progress on the Russia-Ukraine situation is likely soon. However, the actual situation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict remains severe. Ukrainian President Zelensky issued a statement on the same day, stating that a missile strike by Russia on the city of Sumy had resulted in 31 deaths and over 80 injuries.
