Trump Calls for End to Public Dispute with Musk
U.S. President Trump recently stated that he hopes to end the public dispute with Tesla CEO Elon Musk and wished the billionaire supporter "all the best." At the White House, Trump told reporters he would continue to maintain Starlink internet services under Musk and hoped that Musk would continue to cooperate with the government.
Nevertheless, Trump hinted that he might drive away the Tesla car he uses at the White House grounds and mentioned that Musk might actively seek negotiations with him. "I think if I were him, I'd want to talk to me," Trump said. These remarks indicate Trump's willingness to improve relations with Musk, but do not completely eliminate the tension between the two.
Trump Clarifies He Did Not Witness Physical Altercation Between Musk and Besant
During the dispute with Musk, Trump also clarified reports to the public. Trump stated he did not witness Musk having a physical confrontation with U.S. Treasury Secretary Besant. Previously, The New York Times reported that Musk had clashed with Besant while using ketamine, to which Trump responded, expressing hope that Musk had not used recreational drugs while holding a government efficiency role.
Although Trump hopes that relations with Musk can return to normal, he has not fully let go of previous accusations. During a period of tension between the two, Trump threatened to cut government contracts with Musk's companies, particularly government-support projects related to Tesla, which also triggered significant volatility in Tesla's stock price.
Musk Deletes Social Media Posts, Hints at Reconciliation
Recently, Musk deleted several social media posts criticizing Trump, which the media widely interpreted as a signal of his desire to reach reconciliation with Trump. During the dispute with Trump, Tesla’s stock price plummeted, affecting investor confidence. The entanglement between Trump and Musk has also left the public with doubts about Musk’s future political moves.
Trump stated, even though the two had disagreements, he still hopes that Musk can continue to contribute to America and wishes Musk greater success in the future. "We had a good relationship before, I wish him all the best," Trump said.
Tesla Faces Challenges, Trump Threatens to Cut Government Contracts
Trump had publicly stated that if Musk continued to oppose him, the government might reduce Tesla’s government contracts, especially in the fields of electric vehicles and renewable energy. This move once triggered market panic, and Tesla’s stock price fluctuated significantly as a result.
Nonetheless, Trump's attitude seems to have softened, with his latest remarks suggesting a willingness to give Musk more opportunities, also paving the way for potential future cooperation. Trump stated: "I wish him all the best and hope he can continue to contribute to America in the future."
Complex Relationship Between Trump and Musk, Future Development Remains Uncertain
Overall, the relationship between Trump and Musk remains complex, even though Trump expressed a willingness to reconcile with Musk, their dispute has not been entirely resolved. Whether the two can resume cooperation in the future remains to be seen. Meanwhile, Tesla's stock price fluctuations and the Trump administration's policy directions will continue to impact the market's expectations for Musk and his company.
