Amidst the ongoing US-Iran conflict, an international mediation team is striving to facilitate a meeting between US and Iranian officials within the next 48 hours. This mediation team, consisting of Turkey, Egypt, and Pakistan, is working hard to bring about this meeting, aiming to achieve it by Thursday (26th). Although Pakistan's peace initiative has garnered widespread attention on President Trump's social media, there remain significant differences in the positions of the two parties.
According to insiders, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran has further consolidated its power domestically and proposed a series of extremely stringent conditions, including the closure of US military bases in the Gulf region, demanding compensation from the US for attacks, and establishing a new order in the Strait of Hormuz. US officials have firmly stated that these demands are "absurd and unrealistic."
On the diplomatic front, Iran has refused to meet with US envoys Whitaker and Kushner, expressing a preference for high-level talks with the Vice President. The US has submitted a peace plan comprising 15 points and is awaiting Iran's response.
